We are proud to invite you, on March the 7th 2010, to the 6th SKI ALP VAL RENDENA - 11TH MEMORIAL M. NELLA, a spectacular FISI Ski Mountaineering Race with classical skiing equiment, in the southern part of the Brenta Group (Pinzolo - Madonna di Campiglio, Trentino, Italy). 1680 meters total ascent and an amazing 1000meters descent along Val di Sacco. Race starts at 1520m above sea from Pra Rodont. First ascent, 500 meters, leads trough a mountain road and a path up to mount Grual where is the first control* and the first short descent. Once again with the sealskin on from the second control (1843m above sea) up to the XII Apostoli mountaing pass (2620m above sea level) where the long 1000m descent starts. Arrival is on the top of Doss del Sabion (2100m above sea level). Altimetry FISI Race * here is the start for Junior Race Togheter with this race the Comitee organizes a non competitive rally with tha same start and arrival of the FISI race but just 600m ascent in total. Altimetry Rally Race Program Saturday 6th March 7pm: technical briefing, equipmenti check and punching, starting numbers delivery Sunday 7st March 7am: athlets gathering, starting numbers delivery at Pinzolo Cable Way Station 7.30am: transfer to Pra Rodont (1530m above sea level) by cable way 8.30am: race and rally start (ARVA and equipment check for FISI competitors - changes brought by the oprganisation up to the arrival for FISI athlets) - 9.15am: race start for athlets born before 1.1.1992 from 11.45am: lunch at Dos del Sabion mountain hut 3.30pm: prizegiving ceremony at Carisolo Gymnasium Enrolment Participation is open to athletes who are regularly enrolled with a skiing association in their country which is a member of the FIS/UIAA. The athlete shall have a proper medical certificate stating his/her fitness to practise sport for the season underway and shall be at least 18 years old at the time of registering. Special packet: includes registration fee and accomodation (B&b for 50€ or Half Board [evening meal-overnight stay-breakfast] for 60€). Possibile accomodation for companion (B&b for 30€ or HB for 40€). To be sayd upon enrolment. Fill in the subscription form online (link) MINIMUM OBLIGATORY EQUIPMENT (FISI Regulation) - skis : laminated along entire length. Minimum ski width at centre 60 mm (2½ inches). Minimum height. 160 cm (63 inches) for men and 150 cm (59 inches). The height declared by the manufacturer is the one considered. - attachments: these must enable ski boots to be locked at the back for descent and have front and side safety release; they can also have safety belts. - ski poles: maximum diameter 25mm - 3 sealskins: in compliance with environmental norms, use of adhesive tape or such like to encourage sliding is prohibited. - boots: they shall cover the ankle entirely, provide the right heat characteristics and enable quick and safe release of crampons. Type of sole Vibram or similar with min. incisions of 4 mm on 80% of the sole. - A.R.V.A. device: on international frequency of 457 Khz and worn in contact with the body - slings: (U.I.A.A. or C.E.) with thigh slings and (U.I.A.A. or E.C. approved). “Homemade” slings will not be accepted - rucksack: with ski carrying ribbons and suitable for containing all the material. Minimum capacity: 20 litres. - Clothes for lower part of body: two layers. A pair of trousers or ski-suit in competitor’s size and a pair of wind-proof trousers in same size. - Clothes for upper part of body: three layers with long sleeves in competitor’s size, one of which has to be wind-proof. - spare earmuffs or helmet - sunglasses - woren gloves - 1 thermal blanket in minimum size 1.00x1.80 metres - UIAA approved mountaineering or climbing helmet to be worn throughout the race. Mountain bike helmets are prohibited. - 1 UIAA approved and unmodified shovel min.20x20cm (8 x 8 inches).
